Ferrari, Frederic Vasseur has one regret after Silverstone Saturday
It’s still flying low heading into Sunday’s competition.
Ferrari not entirely satisfied at Silverstone. Frederic Vasseur spoke plainly after the fourth and fifth place finishes by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz in qualifying for the British Grand Prix. If indeed some good signs were seen, the medal also presents another side.
“We have mixed feelings,” Vasseur admitted to the microphones of ‘Sky Sport,’ “On the one hand we placed ahead of our direct rivals like Mercedes and Aston Martin. This is positive, but there is also a hint of frustration due to the fact that in Q3 we were not able to put together the full potential of the Ferrari. Plus we don’t have a completely clear picture about the race pace.”
The rain that later gave way to sunshine on the Silverstone track also created problems for Ferrari. “This session turned out to be chaotic for everyone. It was not easy to manage the tires, also because of the unclear weather forecast. Overall it was a good session for us, now we will have to make the most of fourth and fifth in the race. Still, it was a fantastic qualifying session, and this is good for the whole of Formula 1,” was the reflection of Ferrari’s team principal.
