F1, Max Verstappen honors Lando Norris
Max Verstappen: “It wasn’t that simple.”
On the sidelines of the British GP podium celebration, Max Verstappen doesn’t want to hear about domination and instead compliments Lando Norris, who finished second at Silverstone, on how he was able to create problems for him in the early laps of the race.
“We have to understand why I got off to such a bad start,” the Dutchman began in front of the crowd at the famous British circuit. “Lando then was very fast, it took me a while to overtake him and I struggled to stretch. It was not so easy to win, there was also the Safety car, it was important to manage the tires well. I am so happy because this is the 11th win in a row for Red Bull.”
Returning to the start, Verstappen added, “I had done some drifting on Thursday for a promotional event, today I did it again in the race and it wasn’t really good for me. Let’s say, though, that it made the race more exciting; Lando, then, was tough but always fair. I give him my compliments.”
