Agreement for the next five years at $80 million

Popovich is not stopping, quite the contrary. As reported by ESPN, the winningest coach in NBA history has reached an agreement with San Antonio to continue his adventure with the San Antonio Spurs. For the 74-year-old coach, new contract for the next five seasons at $80 million total.

The relationship between Popovich and the San Antonio Spurs is a long-standing one. The coach sat on the San Antonio bench back in 1996, bringing home five NBA Championship titles. Now it will be his turn to bring up new NBA first-round pick Wembanyama, listed as one of the possible all-stars of the future.

Last season, the Spurs finished with a very bad record: 22-60. “We enjoyed the season because we had great guys from a character standpoint who didn’t care how many games we lost in a row. What mattered was watching the game filmn and figuring out dosa we had to do to be ready for the next game,” the words of Popovich himself.
