F1, SF-23 disappointment: in Ferrari’s house they are already thinking about 2024
Only two podiums this season, both with Leclerc
It could have been better. At the British GP, Ferrari took an abrupt step backward. The upgrades, on the Silverstone track, did not bear the desired fruit. With two races to go before the break, the feeling is that the Cavallino is already starting to think about 2024.
The second half of the current season, now dominated by Verstappen’s Red Bull, could be used as a test for the 2024 single-seater, hoping that the largely disappointing SF-23 will at least be useful in figuring out what to change in the design of the Red car to come.
For the Leclerc-Sainz duo, another year of transition. Especially for the Monegasque, this anonymous season is a blow to his ambitions. However, the only way to raise his head again is to start thinking about what to do to be competitive in 2024. There is not only to close the gap with Verstappen’s Red Bull but to try to do better than Mercedes, Aston Martin and McLaren. Here, being able to win at least one GP in this World Championship would be a nice confidence boost for the future.
