Mimmo Di Carlo starts again at Spal

Mimmo Di Carlo is starting again with Spal. The new biancazzurro coach has signed a contract until June 30, 2024. At the end of a long career as a player, which saw him play in all categories of the national professional scene, in 2001 Di Carlo embarked on his coaching career on the bench of Vicenza Primavera.

His debut at the helm of a first team came to fruition two years later with Mantova, a club with which he won two consecutive promotions, thus making the double jump from Serie C2 to Serie B and also touching on a landing in the top division. In the 2007/2008 season he made his Serie A debut in the ranks of Parma Calcio, while in the following seasons he became coach of ChievoVerona and Sampdoria. It was precisely with the blucerchiata formation that he lived his first European experience, playing the Champions League preliminaries against Werder Bremen and then participating in the group stage of the UEFA Cup.

In the summer of 2011 he returned to lead the Clivense club, with which he won tenth place in Serie A, and then moved to Livorno. Still in the top division he also leads Cesena, as well as Spezia and Novara in the cadetteria. In the 2018/2019 season he lived his third experience as coach at ChievoVerona, while the following year he moved to Vicenza and won the Serie C Championship, thus gaining promotion to Serie B.

In the last championship he led the neroverdi of Pordenone, with whom he finished the regular season in second place, obtaining qualification to the national phase of the Playoffs of Serie C.
