Ciro Immobile in the crosshairs of a Saudi club? Lazio denies it
According to Arab journalist Turki Alghamdi, Saudi sheikhs, after Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s move to Al Hilal, want to continue buying into Lazio. The subject of this rumor would be none other than the biancoceleste bomber Ciro Immobile, who has reportedly already reached an agreement with a Saudi club for a three-year contract worth about 15 million euros per season, to which a 5 million bonus would also be added upon signing.
A pharaonic offer that, if confirmed, would take away from Serie A one of its symbols and one of the untouchables of Roberto Mancini’s Italian national team. According to leaks from Arabia, as Sportmediaset reports, official approval from the ministry to finance Ciro’s purchase would be awaited in these hours, and then deal directly with Lazio president Claudio Lotito.
A not insignificant detail, given that the biancoceleste number one does not seem at all willing to repeat the Milinkovic-Savic operation, leaving another of the pillars of a team that achieved an unhoped-for second place in the last championship, as well as the most beloved by the fans. If the deal were to blow up, again according to the Arab journalist, the Saudi club involved would divert its attentions to Luis Muriel, who is expiring with Atalanta.
But Lotito to Il Messaggero dryly denied that there could be any kind of negotiation: “Ciro has not called me to tell me anything, let alone from Arabia they have called the club to make an offer, so we are talking about nothing. They should tempt me with at least 50 million, and I don’t even know if I would accept for our captain, a son, a family man. He is not for sale.”
