Loses another star in the Tour de France: Fabio Jakobsen has come off the pedals less than two weeks after the start of the world’s most prestigious stage race.
The Dutchman explained Thursday morning why he made a very painful decision: “After discussing it with the team, we thought it was best for me to stop my Grande Boucle adventure here. I still haven’t recovered from the fall on stage 4.”
“I am very sorry and sad to have to leave the Tour de France, because I had big goals for this edition and I wanted to be at my best with the team. Now I will take some time to recover and clear my mind-I hope to return to my best level already this season,” added the 26-year-old from Soudal Quick Step.
