Stefano Bossi remains in Trieste, the words of Michael Arcieri

Stefano Bossi remains a player of Pallacanestro Trieste. Confirmation of the 1994 class arrived on Thursday directly from the Julian club, which reported the words of general manager Michael Arcieri to that effect.

“A team that is reborn must do so on a solid foundation,” said the white-and-red executive. “Stefano Bossi is a pillar for us and he will be a pillar for us next season as well. Stefano’s ability to play both point guard and guard guarantees us great versatility and roster depth.”

“His experience and willingness to take big shots, and ability to score them, will be indispensable for the team’s success next season,” added Arcieri. “Not only that, Stefano loves our colors, our public, and it is a love strongly reciprocated. Rebirth together is important.”

Pallacanestro Trieste will play in Serie A2 next season, after relegation accrued on the last day of the regular season of last year’s Serie A championship. The Julian club had played the last five seasons in the top league, contesting the playoffs as a newly promoted team in 2019 and two years later in 2021: in both cases it had exited in the quarterfinals, defeated on the first occasion by Cremona and in the second by Brindisi.

It was precisely against the Apulians, in the last of the 2022/23 regular season, that had come the defeat that, accomplices to the simultaneous successes of Scafati, Napoli, and Reggio Emilia, had condemned Trieste to relegation to the second tier.
