Giovanni Allevi, fortunately, did not die
Giovanni Allevi: “I am definitely alive”
Over the past few hours, picked up by numerous websites, news circulated online announcing the death of Giovanni Allevi. More than one well-known person also expressed his grief. Fortunately, it was the pianist himself who denied the information by posting a message on social media, with the positivity that distinguishes him. “I am definitely alive,” he wrote among other things.
The 54-year-old, who has long been battling myeloma, accompanied the message with a smiling photo of himself at the piano. “For all those who have read in the last few hours a hoax about my demise, I want to assure you that although I continue to fight to return soon with you, I am definitely alive and have never loved life so much! See you soon.”
In 2015, the artist from Marche composed the new Anthem of Serie A: it is ‘O’ generosa’. The piece is composed for orchestra and four-voice mixed choir, inspired by the music of John Williams, Ennio Morricone and Gian Piero Reverberi, but there is no shortage of references to ancient music. The text, in Latin and English, invokes the values of sporting virtue and nobility of spirit.
