Trieste, Lodovico Deangeli confirmed: the background
Deangeli admits, “It was almost done with Chiusi.”
Pallacanestro Trieste, through its official channels, confirmed the renewal of the contract linking Lodovico Deangeli to the Julian club. The 23-year-old Trieste native, who grew up in the red-and-white club, revealed a backstory while talking to ‘Il Piccolo,’ admitting that he almost made a deal with another club before the red-and-whites’ callback in extremis.
“My priority, being very far from my way of thinking the idea of claiming a place in the top league, was to look for a project that would give me the chance to play and make mistakes,” he said. “I did not want to be interested in teams with promotion ambitions and I looked for and found a reality like Chiusi that guaranteed me the minutes I needed. When everything seemed defined Trieste stepped in and in no time we closed the contract.”
“I chose to confirm Lodovico Deangeli,” general manager Michael Arcieri then commented to the club’s official channels, “because he is a product of Trieste’s youth academy with characteristics that will prove very useful for us: he will be able to bring great athleticism, energy and versatility to our roster. Lodovico is an impact player, both on offense and defense; he can and does make a difference. His ability to defend on the opponent’s top scorer is priceless, and his talent for creating play and the right spaces for his teammates fits perfectly with what is the idea of the new Trieste Basketball game.”
Deangeli will thus play his third consecutive season in Trieste: his confirmation comes twenty-four hours after that of another Italian player, Stefano Bossi.
