Loris Capirossi drastic on Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia
Former Ducati rider Loris Capirossi in an interview with Gpone.com gave high praise to world champion and world championship leader Pecco Bagnaia: “He is fast and precise. He is a champion and he is honoring the number he has on the cap. Then the mistake happens and in my opinion it’s there when you are so fast. Is Marc Marquez missing? I think even he would struggle to beat him, even with a more competitive bike.”
Italian riders have put up six wins in eight races: “The Italians are making a difference. Bezzecchi is very strong, he has an aggressive style and is growing, in my opinion he still has a lot to do. Enea Bastianini was unlucky, he was out and needs to get back into a rhythm, but no one doubts his talent. They are both very strong and will entertain us in the second half of the world championship.”
Capirossi promoted the MotoGp format, “The whole weekend is more interesting already from Friday, then we have qualifying and a race on Saturday. At first the Sprint seemed like it could be risky, but in the end there is so much entertainment and now the riders are happy too. I would have liked to run it in my day.”
On the difficulties of the Japanese bikes, “It’s always difficult to find the balance, but I hope both can grow in the right direction to get back to the top. It is important for us to have them competitive again and at the level of Ducati, Aprilia and KTM. I feel something is boiling in the pot, there will be changes and we’ll see what they bring.”
