The farewell was already certain; now it is also physical.

André Onana and Inter Milan have said goodbye. The Cameroonian goalkeeper is about to begin his adventure at Manchester United, so much so that on Tuesday he cleared his locker and left Appiano Gentile once and for all. The Nerazzurri will now replace him with two figures: the experienced Sommer and the promising Trubin.

The next commitment for Onana will be the medical examinations with Manchester United, which should come between Wednesday and Thursday. At that point it will be time for the official announcement of his purchase, with Inter consoling itself amply with the proceeds of 52 million euros plus 4 million in bonuses. A capital gain, in short, really important for the Nerazzurri club. The goalkeeper, on the other hand, will come to earn 7 million euros per season.

Once the sale of Onana is over, Inter will then close the negotiations for the new goalkeeper pair Sommer-Trubin, but the treasury forfeited from the transaction will no longer be used (as the current plans until a few days ago instead envisaged) to offer Chelsea the sum above 30 million needed to secure Romelu Lukaku outright. Instead, as is well known, recent events have led the Meneghina management to stop negotiating the purchase of the Belgian center forward.

“Lukaku? We are probing the market as an information outlet, then the newspapers embroider on it. But we are focusing strongly on Vlahovic, Chiesa, Kean and Milik. We are convinced that we have a competitive team and strong strikers,” newly appointed Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli told a press conference on the former Nerazzurri striker.
