Juventus, Giuntoli sheds light on Lukaku: “Here’s what Allegri asked me”
Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli spoke at a press conference about the Juventus market, shedding light on the situation of Romelu Lukaku, whom Inter Milan dumped after contacts with between Juve and the Belgian.
“There will be no Giuntoli or Allegri moves, there will be Juventus moves. We have to make sustainable and competitive market, we need mix also with experienced people,” Giuntoli explained. “Lukaku? We are probing the market as an information outlet, then the newspapers embroider on it. But we are focusing strongly on Vlahovic, Chiesa, Kean and Milik. We are convinced that we have a competitive team and strong strikers.”
“I don’t feel like saying anything because we are at the beginning of the market. Vlahovic? To irrenounceable offers we can think about it because it’s no secret that we have to fix the accounts. But we are betting big on him.” Allegri’s requests: “With Allegri I am talking every day and he has not asked me anything, he thinks he can continue the project on young people as in the past. I haven’t asked him anything, but there is a daily confrontation.”
Regarding the defense he niches: “We have many and we are fine, but it is not excluded that someone could leave.” On redundancies: “We need to rationalize the roster. In the future certainly having young guys is important, but we need a balance between sustainability and competitiveness. McKennie we never said was out of the project, there are guys on the market and others who are out. Zakaria and Arthur we are negotiating them with other clubs, also Bonucci but there is nothing that appeals to him as of today.”
