Andrea Iannone’s future

Denis Sacchetti, Team Manager of Team GoEleven Ducati, spoke about the possibility of seeing Iannone present on the 2024 lineup, also saying that as far as the team’s future plans are concerned, more will be known around the Round of Most: “We are working on it but we have to figure out whether it is possible or not. Iannone for me is a talent, a great talent. He hasn’t raced in four years but he is a great talent and he deserves a place in this Championship. I talked to him this weekend, but as a friend. There is nothing decided; he has different options but in any case I will be happy if he can come back to the Championship and be competitive. We’ll see.”

On his team’s approach to 2024, Sacchetti said, “It’s not easy to talk now about drivers; now is the time to talk about contracts with drivers. This is our second season together with Philipp and the relationship with him is very good. I think he is fast, has great potential and is really close to the top five. It’s not an easy gap to close though since the level of the championship is really, really high. The bikes, the riders, the teams, the world champions, so for a young rider it’s not easy. We are talking with him and other riders about next season. Right now it is important for us to have different options to decide which one is the best for our future. Nothing is decided yet, I hope it is possible to figure out our future in the next two weeks before the break. Roughly around the Round of Most.”

Michael Ruben Rinaldi, in case he does not stay in the official Ducati team, could he return to Team GoEleven in 2024? “First of all, we will have to see what Ducati will decide, since he may stay there. Michael is a great friend of ours and he is a fast rider and I think he can always finish in the top three. I think he is an interesting rider for all the teams in this Championship.”

Sacchetti also talked about the possible expansion of the team but the budget has not yet been defined: “I think every private team has the same dream, to have two bikes. The main thing is about the budget and it is important to have all the budget needed to field two bikes. We are working on it, as are other Ducati teams. It’s not decided yet.”
