Lazio and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic are saying goodbye. The Biancocelesti club has made official the sale of the Serbian midfielder to Al-Hilal for 40 million euros. The “Sergeant” will tie up with the Saudi club until June 2026.
“S.S. Lazio announces that it has definitively transferred the sports contract of the player Sergej Milinkovic Savic to the Saudi club Al-Hilal SFC,” this is the note issued by the Capitoline club.
In recent days, the footballer took it upon himself to greet and thank the Lazio fans with a touching message on his social accounts: ” “Today is a special day for me, it is difficult to find the right words to say goodbye to you… It has been 8 years since my arrival and I can never forget all that we experienced together. The Coppa Italia, the two Super Cups, and all the goals and assists. You supported me always and gave me the strength of a true SERGEANT. All this will never be forgotten and I will always carry it in my heart. Lazio and our people along with all the teammates I have found over the years has been a true Family. Here I learned so much and became the man I am today. Thanks also to coaches and all the staff who worked with us, and fans who with their passion helped us achieve results that seemed impossible. Last joy with Sergeant was the Champions qualification and I wish you all, many more great things. Forza Lazio! It will forever be my second home. Sergeant.”
From next July 1, it will be possible to deposit contracts for the players who will make up the teams’ rosters for the 2023/2024 season
