Lorenzo Musetti flies to the semifinals in Bastad. The Italian beat qualifier Filip Misolic in three sets with a score of 4-6 6-1 6-2 after 2 hours and 5 minutes of play.

Complicated start for the number 3 seed who already has to face break ball in the opening game: the Carrara player manages to save himself but on 2-2 he has to give up the serve to the Austrian. Misolic retains the break lead until the final 6-4, taking him ahead by a set. Lorenzo’s reaction, however, was immediate: from 1-1 in the second partial, Musetti strung together five consecutive games, equalizing the set count.

The third set is pure formality with Musetti now in full control of the match: the Azure immediately puts his head ahead and on 3-1 gets a new break that allows him to close with the final 6-2 on the second match point.

In the semifinals Musetti awaits the winner of the challenge between the seeding leader, Casper Ruud, and Austria’s Sebastian Ofner.
