Milan blitz: picked up Noah Okafor, that’s who he is

Milan accelerates and closes the deal in attack: Noah Okafor, a 23-year-old striker from Salzburg and the Swiss national team, is arriving in Milanello. The Swiss-born, Nigerian-born, class of 2000, is expected as early as Saturday in Italy for medical examinations and contract signing.

His arrival rules out Taremi’s landing in Milan, and confirms once again that the last extra-EU spot is reserved for Villarreal winger Chukwueze.

Noah Okafor, the sixth summer swoop after Sportiello, Romero, Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek and Reijnders, is a speedy forward who can range across the entire attacking front. At Salzburg he played as a center forward, scoring 10 goals in 32 games in the Austrian league last season. Okafor had impressed AC Milan observers in the Champions League when he scored for Pioli’s team in the match last Sept. 6.

Pioli, meanwhile, in a press conference approved the Rossoneri’s latest official strikes: “In midfield we were looking for players with new characteristics, with the arrival of Loftus-Cheek and Reijnders we will have players of greater quality capable of handling the ball and that will allow us to try to be more offensive and dominant.”

“Pulisic is a different player from the ones we have, I think inserting different players can give us unpredictability to be more dangerous.”
