Stefano Pioli’s words a few days before the American tour

A few days before the departure for the American tour, AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli spoke to the microphones of “Sky Sport” about the market and expectations ahead of next season.

“The first day we met I said I want to be happy, to see the players happy to play together and wear the Milan jersey. There is enthusiasm and excitement, as is normal at the beginning of an important season. We are approaching a new season with changes and I see everyone very motivated. I think it will be difficult to win the Scudetto. Winning the Champions would be exceptional, but it also takes luck,” the former Lazio coach began.

“In the midfield department there will be new positions and new players, like Loftus-Cheek and Reijnders. We want to be even more offensive and dominant. Up front I would like players who make right choices at the right time. Loftus is strong, he combines physicality with quality, he likes to insert himself, I would like him with continuity in the opponent’s area. Tijjani, on the other hand, can be very dangerous with his shot and with verticalizations. He will be able to do well because of his ability to tie the game and provide assists,” added The Rossoneri coach on midfield grafts.

Later Stefano Pioli spoke about a possible tactical change: “We can use many systems of play, we are already used to changing positions during matches. We will have to have a great spirit, it will take time, many new players are arriving. Mature players are coming, who know how to be on the field. I have positive feelings, we have taken smart players, who are willing to learn right away and help the team.”

In conclusion, the Rossoneri coach wanted to give his opinion on Rafael Leao’s growth path: “From what I see, I expect further growth from Rafa. He still has a lot of room for improvement and I am convinced that in the coming season he will become even more of a team man.”
