Luca Ranieri is not moving
Luca Ranieri remains in Florence
Luca Ranieri will continue his adventure with Fiorentina after carving out a significant role in Vincenzo Italiano’s rotations last season. As announced on Saturday by the lily club, the class of 1999 defender signed a contract renewal, which reports June 30, 2026, as the new deadline.
“Fiorentina announces that it has renewed the contract of the player Luca Ranieri until June 30, 2026,” reads the official channels of the purple club. Ranieri, who grew up in the lily’s Youth Sector, collected 19 appearances in the last season between Serie A, Coppa Italia and the Conference League.
Next season will be Ranieri’s second on a permanent basis in the purple first team: after the trafila in the youth academy, in fact, there had come loans to Foggia, Ascoli, Spal and Salernitana, a path in which among other things he grew not only as a left-back, his natural role, but also as a central defender.
Fiorentina will therefore also make use of his performance to try to improve on the results obtained last year: a season full of ups and downs in the league, which ended in eighth place, but more than satisfactory in the cups, with the lily-livered team able to climb all the way to the final acts of the Coppa Italia and Conference League, garnering the applause of fans and insiders despite defeats, in their respective finals, against Inter and West Ham United.
