Marc Marquez-Ducati, Stefan Bradl doesn’t mince words
Stefan Bradl categorical about Marc Marquez’s potential in Ducati
Stefan Bradl, with ‘Speedweek,’ returned to the rumors of recent weeks regarding a possible rapprochement between Marc Marquez and Ducati in MotoGp.
The German, Honda’s test rider as well as Marquez’s replacement several times when the latter has faced numerous physical problems in recent times, was quite blunt: “When you have the right bike, everything is easier,” he said. “I don’t want to say that if Marc got on a Ducati he would be unbeatable, however, he would be a reference point.
“Marc knows very well that the potential of his brother, Marini or Bezzecchi is not comparable to his, because he is at a higher level in terms of riding,” added Bradl, even more adamant. “He is still the rider to beat, when he has the right bike.
“When he says that on a Ducati anyone can go fast, it’s a fact,” concluded the 2011 Moto2 world champion. It doesn’t matter the riding styles, whether it’s last year’s bike or whether you ride for a satellite team.”
Marquez is having one of the most difficult seasons of his career this year, even more so than that 2020 that saw him get injured in Jerez and miss the rest of the championship: his 2023 tally counts zero completed GPs out of the first eight race weekends and only four completed sprint races, for a total of just 15 points. The distance to the World Championship leader, Pecco Bagnaia, is 179 points at the long summer break.
