Friendlies: Milan beaten in comeback by Real Madrid
For the Rossoneri, goals by Tomori and Romero.
At the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, on American soil, in front of 100,000 spectators, AC Milan surrendered to Real Madrid, which won 3-2 at the end of a match of many emotions. The Diavolo led 2-0 before suffering the comeback of Ancelotti’s team.
Start of the Rossoneri brand with double advantage thanks to Tomori and newcomer Romero (author of a beautifully crafted goal). Real Madrid reacted in the second half and, thanks to several defensive blunders by Pioli’s team, managed to overturn the result. Valverde (double) and Vinicius, one of the most anticipated stars, scored.
As anticipated, Pioli relies on the 4-3-3. The new form works, at least in the first hour of play. Excellent indications from Pulisic (his was the assist for Tomori’s goal) and Loftus-Cheek, both already in good physical condition. Also interesting was young Simic, class of 2005, who was sent out by coach Pioli in place of Gabbia. In the post match, Pioli himself appeared quite satisfied with the performance of his Milan team, which, for at least an hour of play, showed very good textures and new soccer ideas: “We will play more technical and even more offensive soccer.” All this while waiting for Okafor and Chukwueze to join the group).
