Inter, goalkeeper anxiety: nerazzurri hunting for alternatives
The goalkeeper situation for Inter is still not unblocked. The Nerazzurri are currently without top-level extreme defenders after the departure of André Onana to Manchester United and the farewell of Samir Handanovic.
The very first name is that of Swiss Yann Sommer: Marotta was counting on speeding up the negotiations but the tug-of-war with Bayern is going on too long. The 34-year-old Swiss national is trying to force his club’s hand and did not train before the departure for the Japan tour, for which he was summoned.
Bayern continues to undauntedly demand the 6 million euro termination clause; Inter wants a discount.
Even more intricate is the Trubin issue: Shakhtar continues to demand at least 15 million euros for its goalkeeper and at the moment the situation is not unblocked. Nerazzurri executives are considering alternatives: the idea is to bet on Stankovic and Di Gennaro as second goalkeeper behind Sommer, and to wait until 2024 for the Ukrainian extreme defender, who is expiring.
