Lorenzo Sonego pulls straight over Jannik Sinner and Matteo Berrettini
Lorenzo Sonego in an interview with Fanpage.co.uk explained that he does not feel envy at all toward other Italian tennis stars Jannik Sinner, Matteo Berrettini and Lorenzo Musetti, who have always had more media space than him: “Actually I don’t care, I never cared whether they were talking about me or not.”
“Everyone has his own path,” continued the Piedmontese tennis player. “Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Musetti are two very young boys, so it is normal that they are talked about: they are the future of Italy.
“And Berrettini is the one who has achieved more at the Italian level: by making Slam semifinals and finals he has reached goals that I have never reached. It is right that we talk about them.”
Speaking of Berrettini, the Roman tennis player was reborn at Wimbledon precisely against Sonego: “I explained to him that recovering from injury and coming back to win was not a given after what he had done in these years. He had to be patient, with time he would get back to his level and he did it.”
