Newcastle pounces on Nicolò Zaniolo

Newcastle is working to strengthen the squad at Eddie Howe’s disposal ahead of next season, which will see the Magpies return to the Champions League after 20 years since the last time. The priority for the Englishmen would be a reinforcement on the outside, complicit with the sale of Saint-Maximin to Al-Ahli. Among the profiles identified, another Azzurri player would have gained prominence in recent hours, following the purchase of Sandro Tonali from AC Milan.

According to reports from “Tuttomercato,” the Bianconeri have reportedly set their sights on Nicolò Zaniolo, who could leave Galatasaray in this soccer session. The Magpies would have already initiated contacts with the player’s entourage to understand the feasibility of the negotiation. However, there would also be several Italian clubs on the former Roma midfielder, Juventus and Fiorentina above all.

Galatasaray, for its part, in order to let the class of 1999 leave would demand the payment of the rescission clause present in the contract (35 million euros).

In addition to the Azzurri, Newcastle also reportedly made an attempt for Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, putting a bid of 95 million euros on the table, which was immediately returned to sender by President Aurelio De Laurentis.
