Juventus beats Milan on penalties in Los Angeles
Juventus-Milan 6-5 (d.c.r)
Juventus beats AC Milan on penalties in the friendly match played on the night in Los Angeles at the “Dignity Health Sports Park” stadium in Carson.
The Rossoneri started off strong right away and in the 22nd minute found the lead with Thiaw who turned a free kick from Theo Hernandez well with his head. The Bianconeri’s reaction is immediate: ten minutes later from the development of a corner, Gatti tries twice but is repelled, on the rebound Danilo is the quickest of all and puts it in. Five minutes passed and the Diavolo again went ahead: Giroud converted Thiaw’s bank and slotted it past Szczesny.
In the second half, Juventus immediately found the equalizer: a free kick from Chiesa, grazed by Rugani and deflected by Giroud into the back of Maignan’s net. With half an hour to go Pioli changes the whole of Milan, and Allegri goes after him substituting as many as 6 players but nothing more happens.
So it comes down to penalties: errors for Romero and Pobega in the Rossoneri, by Iling-Junior and Kostic in Juventus. It goes to the bitter end: Pinsoglio saves the penalty to Bartesaghi, while Soulé scores the decisive one, giving the victory to the Bianconeri.
