Milan, double call from Besiktas: in departure Rebic and Messias
In addition to incoming transactions, there are also some outgoing ones.
Milan very active in the market, but also that of disposals. While Yunus Musah is on his way and Samuel Chukwueze has already introduced himself to the Rossoneri people, two of Stefano Pioli’s players are ready to say goodbye to the team and both leave for Turkey, destination Besiktas. They are Ante Rebic and Junior Messias.
According to Saturday’s reports from the web page of the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport,’ in fact, Rebic’s transfer to Besiktas is practically a done deal. The reasons for his departure would basically be twofold: his poor contribution to Pioli’s project for a couple of seasons now and also the need to relieve Milan’s coffers of a 3.5 million euros net salary per season. The deal is expected to cost the Istanbul club 500,000 euros immediately and 2 million in the form of bonuses.
The deal is very close to being finalized, as Rebic already had not left for Milan’s American tour (a common fate with Divock Origi, another Pioli redundancy). His medicals with Besiktas could come as early as Saturday or Sunday. On the other hand, the situation of Messias, closed by the arrivals of Pulisic and Chukwueze himself, has yet to be defined: in this case, according to the ‘Rosea’, the offer from the bianconeri in Istanbul would still be insufficient.
“When I heard that Milan wanted to buy me, I was really nervous,” Chukwueze said upon his presentation as a Rossoneri player. “Then I saw the Italian fans, the Milan fans who were sending me messages to come here; wonderful people. My first impression came to the fans; they made me come here. The way they kept sending me messages, tagging me, telling me to come here. That’s what made me come here.”
