Parma beats Sassuolo in friendly match on the day of Gigi Buffon’s farewell to soccer

On the day of Gigi Buffon’s farewell to soccer, Parma beat Sassuolo 1-0 in the friendly match played Wednesday night at the ‘Ennio Tardini’ stadium, home of the Crusaders. Deciding the match between the two Emilian teams in favor of the one playing in Serie B was the goal scored in the 68th minute by Antoine Hainaut.
The Ducal team, led on the bench by Fabio Pecchia, lined up at the start with a 4-2-3-1 with Corvi in goal, Coulibaly, Osorio, Circati and Zagaritis in defense, Hernani and Estevez on the midline, Benedyczak, Sohm and Man on the three-quarter line and Bonny in attack. Besides Hainaut, Chichizola, Rinaldi, Balogh, Bernabé, Begic, Ansaldi, Delprato, Colak, Partipilo, Juric, Cobbaut and Haj started from the bench.
Specular form for Alessio Dionisi and his Sassuolo, who at kickoff lined up Cragno in front of the posts, Missori, Viti, Tressoldi and Toljan in defense, Maxime Lopez and Matheu Enrique in the midfield, Berardi, Volpato and Ceide on the three-quarter, Mulattieri in front. Pegolo, Theiner, Consigli, Flamingo, Erlic, Pinamonti, Bajrami, Miranda, Vina, Paz, Russo, Leone, Lauriente and Defrel started on the bench.
Parma will play its first official match on Aug. 12, in the Coppa Italia against Bari, before taking the field for the first day of Serie B on Aug. 19 against Feralpisalò. Sassuolo, on the other hand, will be busy the next day, against Cosenza, before their 2023/24 Serie A debut at home against Atalanta on Aug. 20.
