Franco Morbidelli and farewell to Yamaha: all his bitterness

Yesterday, Yamaha announced that Franco Morbidelli will not be part of the Japanese manufacturer’s official MotoGP team in 2024, and today the 28-year-old Italian-Brazilian, on the eve of the three-day British Grand Prix at the Silverstone circuit, expressed all his bitterness to the microphones of Sky Sport MotoGP, quotes published by the Italian website of motorsport.com.

“We still have to stay focused on this second part of the season, we all need good results and good feelings. We will try to give our best to do something more than the first part and we will see if we can do it.”

“Definitely being able to take what comes to you as motivation is important. If we look at my situation, it’s that of a rider who has struggled the last two years, so I’m halfway through the season without a saddle. It’s not the situation I was hoping for for me and it’s not the situation I think I deserve, so it’s something that gives me even more motivation to get out there and give it my all.”

“As always, when you don’t achieve the results you set out to achieve, it’s hard to blame a single factor. Certainly the end result, the easiest thing to see, is the driver not getting where he wants to be. But if you analyze well, it is always difficult to point the finger at a single thing. When results don’t come, it’s always a combination of factors.”

“There are bikes I would like to try, however, it is still early to say everything. As I said, now we need to stay focused on this second part of the season, which will be very important. After a first part that was a bit like this from an overall point of view, we have to try to make a step. Let’s see if we can do it.”
