Frank Gaines returns to Italy

New Italian adventure for Frank Gaines, who last February had left Trieste to finish the 2022/23 season at Provence Basket: the 1990-class guard has in fact signed an agreement with Benacquista Assicurazioni Latina, a club that plays in Serie A2.

Gaines, 191 cm for 88 kg, is an experienced graft for the Nerazzurri club. The American player’s career counts high-level experience also in Italy, where among other teams he has also worn the jerseys of Trieste, Cantù and Virtus Bologna putting up about 1,200 points (he was the best scorer in the 2018/19 season).

“I love Italy as a country,” Gaines told Benacquista Latina’s official channels, “and I consider it as a second home. I chose to come to Latina because there is one of my favorite Italians of all time, Sasà Parrillo, and also because it will be an opportunity for me to prove that I am the same player, if not better.”

“I would like to thank GM Mariano Bruni and the club that when the opportunity to recruit Frank presented itself, they were ready not to miss the chance and secured the services of a very important player for our category,” said Benacquista head coach Di Manno on the matter. Gaines certainly needs no introduction, he has already worn the colors of some of the most important teams in Italian basketball, he has great scoring skills and will be able to help the team in the best way possible to reach its goals.
