VR46, Luca Marini is relieved
Luca Marini’s words after free practice
Luca Marini finished ninth in the afternoon free practice session at Silverstone, thus managing to hit the Top10 and guaranteeing direct access to tomorrow’s Q2, as per the new format.
Despite a fall in the second session, without consequences, Luca (P2 in FP1 – 2’00.331 ed.) scored right under the checkered flag the 1’59.246, enough to play the first rows on Saturday.
“Not bad for being the first day after the summer break – commented Marini to the official channels of the Mooney VR46 Racing Team -. I’m happy with the Top10, it’s always the first goal of the weekend because it definitely makes everything less complicated. I’m sorry for the crash, I had just mounted the soft on the rear to work on the pace in view of the sprint. With the medium in front, I always struggle a bit, while with the soft, even considering the temperatures, I was fine. In terms of dry laps I couldn’t be perfect, but the pace is not bad at all. Tomorrow they are giving rain, so it will be a day of its own, but for Sunday we are in good shape.”
