Inter, Yann Sommer’s time has come: set for his arrival in Italy
The long-awaited goalkeeper is coming for real.
Yann Sommer to Inter Milan is about to materialize, after a long telenovela that has characterized much of the Nerazzurri summer. Simone Inzaghi’s new goalkeeper is indeed one step away from arriving in Italy.
According to reports from ‘Sky Sport’, in fact, all the still complicated aspects of the negotiation would have dissolved so much so that the Swiss extreme defender should arrive in Italy as early as Sunday morning. This will be the first step that will lead him on Monday to undergo medical examinations and then to sign his new contract that will bind him to Inter. The Simone Inzaghi-coached team had been orphaned over the course of a single summer by André Onana, Samir Handanovic and Alex Cordaz.
Sommer will arrive from Bayern Munich, thanks to a deal defined by Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio that should no longer include the payment of the termination clause to the Bavarian club, thus saving Inter €6 million.
A week ago, on the sidelines of the friendly match between his Bayern Munich side and Kawasaki Frontale, journalists present in Japan had pressed Sommer on what the soccer market could present him with in his imminent future. And the big Inter target had admitted that something was indeed moving, but that he was in no hurry. “Now I’m here with Bayern Munich, and at the club I’m doing really well. My relations are very good with everyone. Clear is that they have been talking about this possibility for days, all that remains is to see what will happen,” he had said.
