Holger Rune slams Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.

Holger Rune at a press conference in Toronto swept away speculation about a supposed new “Big 3” consisting of Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner and the Danish tennis player himself after the historic Federer-Nadal-Djokovic trio of phenomena.

“I hear people talking about this, and other things that it’s too early to talk about. In the end only one of us has won Slam tournaments, and that is Carlos. Clearly we are young and time is on our side, but it’s too early to talk about it.”

“Now the results have to speak, I have to focus on myself as Jannik and Alcaraz will do, and go our own way,” Rune concluded.

All three young talents have been placed in the same part of the Toronto draw: Alcaraz and Rune could face each other in the quarterfinals, and Sinner could see off one of them in the semifinals if he makes it all the way.
