Jannik Sinner, Dusan Lajovic’s confession.

Dusan Lajovic was on court for only a quarter of an hour in his Cincinnati Masters 1000 third-round match against Taylor Fritz: the Serbian tennis player, Jannik Sinner’s executioner in the previous round, withdrew due to a foot problem after losing all 20 first points of the match against his U.S. opponent.

The Serb, still very much tried after the feat against Azzurro, chose to withdraw after consulting with his doctor and physiotherapist.

Lajovic after the match against Sinner had admitted that he was relieved to have finished in two sets in the match with Azure: “I am happy to have finished in two sets because I know that facing three sets against this kind of player was always going to be much harder.”

Fritz in the quarterfinals will face Novak Djokovic, to whom he has always lost in his previous six matches.
