Coco Gauff triumphs in Cincinnati

Coco Gauff triumphed in the Cincinnati WTA 1000 by overcoming Czech Karolina Muchova 6-3 6-4 in two sets. For the U.S. tennis player, it is the second tournament won in a few days after Washington, and the most important victory of her career.

The American, now No. 6 in the world, has thus become one of the leading candidates to win the Us Open, the last Slam of the season starting soon.

The 19-year-old charged by the home crowd after her victory with world number one Iga Swiatek kept the match under control all the time, suffering something only in the second partial, when the emotion made itself felt just a step away from victory.

Gauff won her fifth career tournament.
