Cagliari, not only Petagna: a new last minute lead pops up
Cagliari, pops up Luka Jovic idea for attack
After the white-net draw with Torino, Cagliari è returned to work to complete the squad available to Claudio Ranieri. The priority for the islanders, accomplice to Lapadula’s injury, would be a reinforcement in the offensive phase. The main candidate would be Monza’s Andrea Petagna, with whom the Rossoblù club would have already found an agreement on the basis of a loan with right of redemption. However, the Brianzoli’s difficulties in finding a replacement would have pushed the Sardinian management to evaluate other profiles as well.
According to a report by "L'Unione Sarda", one name that would have gained prominence è that of Luka Jovic, who after being excluded from the UEFA list will most likely leave Fiorentina in these last days of the market. For the Rossoblù it would be a last-minute deal, as the player, whose contract expires in 2024, could leave at a bargain price.
The main obstacle, however, as in the case of Petagna, would be related to the high salary received by the former Real Madrid center forward ( 2.5 million euros ).
From next July 1, it will be possible to deposit the contracts related to the players who will make up the teams’ rosters for the 2023/2024 season.
