Charles Leclerc bluntly on contract renewal

A few hours before the start of free practice of the Zandvoort GP, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has è expressed himself to the microphones of several media, including "FormulaPassion", about his future, since é the Monegasque will go to expire in 2024.

"Reading the news it sounded like a good deal to me, but really; there is no news and there have been no discussions of any kind. At some point we will sit down at the table and we will definitely talk about it. I think my intentions are very clear" said the Monegasque driver.

"I am not worried and the issue of my renewal is not è a priority for now. We just want to try to work as much as possible on the car to be competitive. At the end of the season then we will definitely talk about it. Honestly, I don&#39t even have deadlines, because I still have a year and a half left on my contract, so there's still a lot of time. We haven&#39t started talking yet, and both the team and I have decided that dealing with the subject at the end of the championship is the right way" added the 1997-class driver.

"I am fully convinced of the project and our approach. We will have new engineers joining the team. I believe it is the right way to go to try to get competitive again. I am convinced of the vision that Fred has for the team and we are working in the right direction, then, how long it will take; to get back to fighting for wins è hard to predict" Charles Leclerc&quoted.
