Moto3, David Alonso triumphs in Montmelò
Seventeen-year-old Colombian David Alonso won a’crowded sprint of the Moto3 class Catalunya Grand Prix at the Montmelò circuit.
Alonso, in his second success of the season and in his MotoGP career, with his GasGas Asper burned at the finish line Spaniards Jaume Masia, on a Leopard Racing Honda, and José Antonio Rueda on a KTM of the Red Bull KTM Ajo team.
Fourth was Husqvarna’s Japanese Ayumu Sasaki while the world leader, Red Bull KTM Tech3’s Spaniard Daniel Holgado, è crashed on the last lap when he was playing for victory with the rest of the leading group
Holgado thus sees his lead in the Moto3 standings shrink to 13 points over Sasaki and 32 over Masia.
