MotoGp, Marco Melandri is adamant about Marc Marquez’s future
MotoGp, Marco Melandri bluntly on the future of Marc Marquez
During an interview at the microphones of "Sky Sport MotoGp", the'former Ducati centaur Marco Melandri è expressed himself bluntly about the future of Marc Marquez, who may leave Honda at the end of this season.
"Unfortunately, Honda has been quitting a lot of champions lately. Marquez is doing very badly and he is 30 years old now, so I don't think he wants to put himself back in the game to develop a bike that could be competitive again in two or three years. Also the championship needs an'alternative to Ducati and a Marquez who always shuffles the cards anyway and è unpredictable. For me in 2024 we will see him on a European bike" began the former Ducati centaur.
" I think that whatever choice he makes, he will absolutely not make it with money in mind. After these years he just wants to get back to winning, so his farewell to Honda would only be a personal matter. In the past I have seen news being given decisively a bit to deflect from reality, but I don't really know what might happen" added the former rider.
In conclusion Marco Melandri è dwelt on the recent market rumors regarding a possible landing of Marc Marquez at the Ducati of the Gresini team: "Surely it would be fast. As a fan of the Gresini team I would be happy and it would be good for his brother as well, becauseé anyway having Marc on the team would be a stimulus, a guide and definitely a better collaboration. I hardly imagine him on a Honda next year, that è for sure".
