Vuelta 2023: Jumbo Visma dominance in 13th stage, bad Evenepoel
Danish Jumbo-Visma team member Jonas Vingegaard è won the thirteenth stage of the Vuelta 2023 finishing ahead of everyone in, 3h 51' 10", the 135 km starting from Huesca la Magia and finishing at Col du Tourmalet: beat teammates Sepp Kuss and Primoz Roglic.
Completing the top ten are Juan Ayuso (UAE Team Emirates), Cian Uijtdebroeks (Bora-Hansgrohe), Enric Mas (Movistar Team), Mikel Landa (Bahrain Victorious), Aleksandr Vlasov (Bora-Hansgrohe), Steff Cras (Total Energies) and Marc Soler (UAE Team Emirates). A day to forget, however, for Remco Evenepoel who finished in 60th place 27 minutes behind the leader. He is confirmed in the red jersey, however, Sepp Kuss.
At the end of the stage Jonas Vingegaard did not hide his satisfaction with the result:"I am overjoyed, I could not have chosen a better day to be able to win for the first time at the Vuelta. I wanted the win at any cost. I set out with the goal of gaining on my opponents and I am very proud that I succeeded. I dedicate this success to my daughter Frida. Everything è went better than we had thought".
