The words of the coach of Italrugby after the Rugby World Cup debut

.

After a convincing debut in the Rugby World Cup, which saw Italy impose themselves on Namibia with a clear 52-8, Azzurri coach Kieran Crowley è expressed himself in no uncertain terms in the post-match: "Namibia did a great job in the first half to make life difficult for us, I am very proud of the team and the way they adapted to the match. At halftime we talked to each other and in the second half we managed the match very effectively. At this level you have to respect the opponent, there are two teams on the field trying to take the upper hand, if everything always went for the best and you executed the plan 100 percent, you would always win by a hundred points" began the coach of Italrugby.

"There were some phases of the game where we were not brilliant. We lost too many balls, but our throws went well overall. The scrum had a good day and we were effective in lineouts, but in the first half Namibia è managed to disrupt us with good pressure from the defensive line" added the New Zealand coach.

"Today rugby is played with all twenty-threeé men available. Page-Relo had a good impact on the game when è entered, but that doesn&#39t mean Varney wasn&#39t effective. He had to deal with some challenging situations at times when we were struggling to take the inertia of the match" continued the Azzurri coach.

" I would have signed to score soì many points on the eve, but we also wasted a lot. Now we will analyze the match and start again to prepare for Uruguay. The South Americans are quite a physical and organized team and it will be a good challenge, but for now let&#39s enjoy it, because we won a World Cup match and so we need to celebrate" concluded Kieran Crowley.

On the success with Namibia è also spoke the captain of the Azzurri Michele Lamaro: "In the first half Namibia defended well, but we managed to find good solutions. We were 100 percent ready for today’s match, but there are areas where we can improve. It was the first match of the World Cup and the emotional factor took its toll. We knew we were better performers than them from a physical standpoint in the second half and we were able to find more space to express our game. I am convinced that we can play for qualification in the quarterfinals with New Zealand and France".
