Saturday will begin a fiery period for Genoa: in less than a month, the Grifone will face Napoli, Roma and Milan in addition to Lecce and Udinese. The tour de force will start on Saturday night against the Neapolitans, then there will be the trip to Lecce. Gilardino’s gang will host Mourinho’s Roma on Sept. 28 before facing Udinese on Oct. 1. Six days later Stefano Pioli’s AC Milan will arrive at the Ferraris.
In the first three days of the championship, Genoa has scraped together three points, the result of a win against Lazio. Defeats, however, against Fiorentina and Torino.
On the occasion of the Grifone’s 130th anniversary celebration, CEO Andres Blazquez told Telenord: "Genoa è in Serie A and must stay there forever, we want to become a top club in Italy and Europe. It's important to have my partner and friend Jos Wander on the board of the Eca (Association of European Clubs, ed), because we want to become a top club in Italy and Europe. I personally am proud to represent a small part of this very long history".
