Neven Spahija takes stock

On the sidelines of the Lovari Trophy in Lucca, which closed with Reyer Venezia’s defeat in the final against Tortona, Orogranata coach Neven Spahija makes no dramas and, indeed, takes stock of the preseason of the club he has been coaching since last February.

"I am satisfied with these two days of the tournament in Lucca, considering the moment and the work we are doing,” said the Croatian coach. “We know we have problems, but the team always shows the same excellent attitude with constant commitment".

On the market front, Spahija è was clear: "We are waiting for the two players to complete the roster,” he said, “and next week we will take more steps forward. I am very happy with the attitude of the players, the current fitness matches our work program".

Spahija took over as head coach of Reyer Venezia on Feb. 8, 2023, replacing Walter De Raffaele. The orogranata season, with the Croatian on the bench, ended with fourth place in the regular season and elimination in the quarterfinals of the playoffs scudetto against Dinamo Sassari. Also in the Italian Cup and Eurocup, the Laguna team è stopped at the first knockout hurdle (against Virtus Bologna in the quarterfinals of the domestic cup and against Hapoel Tel Aviv in the round of 16 of the "little sister" Euroleague).
