Federica Venturelli junior European gold in the women’s time trial
Italy's Federica Venturelli, an 18-year-old from Cremona, won the junior women's time trial race at the European Road Cycling Championships in Drenthe, Netherlands.
Venturelli, the reigning Italian champion both in-line and against the clock, dominated the trial by finishing with a time of 26'23" the 20.6-kilometer course in Emmen, at an average speed of nearly 47 km/h.
Silver to Sweden’s Stina Kagevi, at 24" bronze to Germany’s Hannah Kunz, at 33". The other Italian Alice Toniolli è placed eighth, qiondicesima Eleonora La Bella.
In the men’s junior race, gold è went to the eve’s favorite, Denmark’s Albert Withen Philipsen who covered the 19.8 km in 22'48". Second place went to Norway’s Jorge Nordhagen (at 46"43), third to Belgium’s Sente Sentjens (at 49"12). The best of the Italians è was Luca Giaimi, who placed fifth.
