Stage 9, San Felice Circeo-Rome, Sept. 4, 2023
We leave San Felice Circeo and head for Latina, in the heart of the Pontine Plain. Once known as Littoria, it still preserves a’rationalist architecture, an important testimony to the history of twentieth-century Italy.
We pass through Borgo Montello and Lanuvio and reach Marino, in the Castelli Romani area. A center linked above all to viticulture, è the homeland of the homonymous white wine with controlled designation of origin and its name è linked to the famous Sagra dell’Uva, the oldest event of its kind in Italy.
The race comes to a close in Rome, the eternal city.Walking the streets of Rome means walking through History with a capital esse. Among the world’s most beloved tourist destinations, it allows and almost imposes continuous discoveries, thanks to the’immensity’of its artistic heritage. In fact, it hosts two capitals in one city: the Italian capital and the seat of the Pope in the Vatican, a universal pilgrimage destination in St. Peter’s Square.
