Marco Bezzecchi is there, Pecco Bagnaia slows down

Marco Bezzecchi starts the Grand Prix of India in the best way. The Ducati Mooney VR46 team rider dominated the first free practice session, confirming his excellent form. On the brand new Buddh International Circuit, all teams and riders had the opportunity to get to know the Indian track better.
Bezzecchi set the best time of the morning with a time of 1:45.990. He was just 139 thousandths ahead of the rediscovered Marc Marquez of Honda Repsol, while in third place was South African Brad Binder of Red Bull KTM, with a gap of 320 thousandths. In fourth place came Spaniard Raul Fernandez of the Aprilia RNF, 381 thousandths behind the leader, while his compatriot Maverick Vinales of the Aprilia finished fifth, 488 thousandths behind. In sixth place was Frenchman Johann Zarco of Ducati Pramac, at 586 thousandths.
Yet another Ducati è made itself known in the seventh position, that of the Mooney VR46 team of Luca Marini, with a gap of 0.619 seconds. In eighth place came Jorge Martin of Ducati Pramac, at 620 thousandths, followed by Fabio Di Giannantonio of Ducati Gresini, ninth at 788 thousandths. The top10 è was completed by Spaniard Joan Mir of Honda Repsol, 815 thousandths from the top. Aleix Espargarò of the Aprilia è stopped in thirteenth position, 984 thousandths from first place, while Francesco Bagnaia of the Ducati Factory è placed fifteenth, focusing as always on tires and long distance, finishing 1.060 from Bezzecchi’s time. Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo è failed to do better than nineteenth, due to technical problems on his M1 and a gap of 1.524 seconds. Ducati’s Michele Pirro è finished 20th, 2.038 seconds behind the leader, while Yamaha’s Franco Morbidelli finished 21st and last, with a gap of 2.115 seconds.
