Ferrari reborn: Frederic Vasseur reveals what happened in the summer
One of the Cavallino’s most atavistic problems now seems to be behind it.
Ferrari up sharply after the summer break, and Frederic Vasseur knows why. The Maranello-based Rosse are facing a decidedly subpar 2023 compared to last winter’s expectations, but in recent weeks the long-awaited turnaround seems to have arrived. In fact, in Singapore è came the first victory of the season with Carlos Sainz, but also the podiums in Monza and Suzuka (the latter with Charles Leclerc) certify the newfound vein of the SF-23. And the team principal analyzed the reasons why.
"As far as we are concerned, we have managed to improve markedly in terms of tire management. During the first part of the championship, in Ferrari we were definitely suffering moreù the problem of degradation", explained Vasseur in fact as you canò read on 'SpeedWeek'.
It is precisely this aspect, which Ferrari has suffered for months, è been central in the work that the team in Maranello carried out before the resumption of the Formula 1 championship. "We focused on some steps of work and development ch specifically related to the tuning. The goal was to allow Leclerc and Sainz to extend the life of the tires longer. And this kind of work is now paying off", added Vasseur.
