It's the face of happiness that Jorge Martin gives to microphones and cameras at the conclusion of a perfect Saturday for him: in Motegi, the Ducati Pramac rider in fact won pole position with track record and triumph in the Sprint race, with the gap in the MotoGp World Championship standings narrowing to 8 points over leader Pecco Bagnaia.
"I felt very strong,” Martin said.
This morning I was not quite ahead of everyone on used tires, you might have thought I had no particular advantage, but then I saw the qualifying lap and confirmed that the potential was there".
"We worked on the details, tried to understand a little more without changing the set-up much,‖ he added.
In the end, the base was very good, we are happy with the pace. Hopefully tomorrow we will have a chance to manage the tires, with the race lasting longer: we have to keep calm and aim for another victory".
Martin, thanks to the success in the Motegi sprint race, has è brought himself to just 8 points from Pecco Bagnaia, the leader of the world ranking: the reigning world champion has in fact 299 points, while the Spaniard, thanks to today’s success, è climbed to 291.
