An unexpected defeat, which brought a smile to the face of a tennis legend.

Carlos Alcaraz, like Jannik Sinner, suffered an unexpected and premature elimination at the Shanghai Masters 1000, where he succumbed in three sets to Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov (5-7, 6-2, 6-4 the final score). His misadventure è was, however, greeted with a joke by Roger Federer, host of the ATP during the Chinese tournament and who revealed a little secret concerning his great Spanish heir.

Federer è indulged in an extensive tour of the Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena, and here he confessed to the Shanghai Masters 1000 organizers that he was able to regain possession of his historic dressing room. Previously it had in fact been occupied by Alcaraz himself, who after his elimination inevitably emptied it. And in the meantime it has not è been reassigned to anyone.

"I learned that this year Alcaraz would use my locker room. But in the meantime, since he's gone, I took him back. Of course I am sorry that Carlos is gone from here, but I am happy to be able to go back to my locker room", said with a smile a Federer in a joking mood.

"I don’t think I can say that I played badly or even that it was one of my worst matches. On the contrary, I think I played well, but è it went like this. An opportunity like this in a Masters 1000 doesn&#39t happen often, but I won&#39t be able to take advantage of it,” Alcaraz had said hotly after the knockout with Dimitrov.
