After a season at Intermarché-Circus-Wanty, Rui Alberto Faria da Costa, known simply as Rui Costa, has decided to embark on a new adventure for 2024: in fact, on Wednesday, EF Education-EasyPost announced that it had found the agreement with the Portuguese cyclist, the 2013 world road champion.
The 37-year-old does not feel forò 'hen' as he himself told the team's official channels: "Everyone can grow together with younger riders, I can too: I keep growing and learning, despite my age. It's true, I like to help, but I always aspire to improve".
"Passion drives me,” he added, “I have been a professional for 17 years and I have the same enthusiasm as when I started, cycling è everything for me. Motivation grows in cycling, race after race. My goal always remains to improve".
Rui Costa experienced the pinnacle of his career in 2013, in Florence, winning the rainbow road race title. He also boasts three stage wins at the Tour and one at the Vuelta, as well as three consecutive Swiss Tours. In 2023, he won the Tour of the Comunità Valenciana (in addition to a stage win), the Calvià Trophy, the Vuelta stage finishing in Lekunberri and, most recently, the Japan Cup, which he won on Sunday, Oct. 15.
