Jannik Sinner, Most Marketable Athletes

SportsPro Media has unveiled the list of "Most Marketable Athletes" of 2023, dedicated to the most commercially marketable athletes. The ranking, which includes the Top 50 athletes chosen through a sophisticated mathematical algorithm based on 16 qualitative and quantitative variables, is divided into three macro-areas: strength of the athlete's brand, size of the target market and economic potential.

Tennis's footprint in the list of "Most Marketable Athletes" remains strong, with eight tennis players among the top fifty athletes selected (six women and two men). The full Top 125 ranking of representative athletes (chosen from nearly 1,000 participants from 174 sports) includes as many as sixteen tennis players, eight men and eight women.

Topping the overall list is Miami Inter soccer player Lionel Messi, followed by Los Angeles Lakers basketball star LeBron James and U.S. National Soccer Team captain Alex Morgan. Athletes representing tennis disciplines include Novak Djokovic (No. 11), Coco Gauff (No. 12) and Naomi Osaka (No. 14). On the other hand, the Japanese woman, although inactive due to pregnancy, maintains a very respectable position, achieved in 2022 at No. 6 and preceded only by Serena Williams at No. 2.

As for Italian sportsmen, tennis player Jannik Sinner in 97th place è the only representative among the top 125.
